Our God is a God of Miracles

Our God is a God of Miracles
You may have seen the Facebook post about our tool trailer being delivered to Lake Charles.  If not, you can see the amazing video of them dropping it off here.  We had been awaiting the trailer with baited breath to see if our tools all made it through the journey safely.  We had everything all packed and tied down but it was still an extremely heavy container to move.  The truck driver said that it weighed more than the semi that brought it here!  Once it was set down, we unlocked the door and peered inside.  Nothing had moved!  It was all exactly as we had packed it.  Praise God!
Later in the afternoon, we opened the other set of doors and quickly realized that we were unable to close and lock the doors.  The heavy trailer had sunk into the ground slightly crooked and the one corner wasn't allowing us to close the door properly.  Many of us attempted to find a way for it to close.  It was getting late in the day and we decided we would just loop a chain around the doors to lock it up for the night and attempt to lift up the corner with our skid loader in the morning.  In the morning, we fired up the skid loader and tried to lift the corner up just enough for us to stick some boards underneath.  It wouldn't budge.  We went on to other projects throughout the day and I went to work on setting up some things in our new office.
A few hours later, I peered out the window and what did I see, but a full-blown semi wrecker tow truck in our parking lot!  The truck was picking up some wreckage from a minor accident that happened in front of the church earlier that morning.  One of our volunteers noticed that the truck was just sitting at the end of the church driveway.  He walked over and explained our predicament.  The driver said he was just sitting waiting for his next call and would gladly lift the corner up for us, free of charge.  They hooked up the corner of the trailer and the truck lifted it with ease.
I wanted to share this story with you all because I never want to forget the day-to-day miracles that God does in our lives.  God provided just what we needed, right when we needed it!  I mean, how often do you see semi wrecker tow trucks just sitting in your driveway right when you need them?!  There have been so many other things that God has done and we want to make sure that we never, ever take them for granted or forget them as time goes on.
•As we were setting the trailer down initially we needed a log to place in the mud to help with the sinking.  God provided the perfect sized one that we just found in some debris on our way to go buy one from the lumbar yard.
•With many extension cords and generators running in Lake Charles, there have been many fires in the city.  We found a melting cord plug before it caused a fire.  The person that found it while working wasn't planning on coming over that day, but decided that he really wanted to work on some things sooner rather than later.
•Our volunteer team's rental car was delayed which resulted in the opportunity to share the Gospel and pray with an airport employee.
None of these things are a coincidence and God deserves all the credit and glory.  We plan on starting a miracle board where we can write down all the amazing things God does.  Maybe you want to start one too?

Our first team in Lake Charles arrived the first week of January.  Trinity Fellowship was our partner church in Friendswood and it was such a blessing to have them with us to help set up the Lake Charles response.  Thanks to them and all their hard work, we now have our office set up, bunkbeds built, and a kitchenette area set up in our Life Room.  You can see more pictures in my post about that week here.  They are such a blessing to have in our lives and we're glad they are only about 3 hours away!  What a beautiful picture of how God used a trial and hardship in their lives (Hurricane Harvey) and now He has brought them to help walk alongside those going through the trials that Hurricane Laura brought.  This is the body of Christ and what it looks like to love one another.  We are praying for more teams to come serve the community here in Lake Charles.  If you would like to send a team, let us know!  If you would like more info on our Covid precautions for volunteer teams, let us know. :)
Our team here in Lake Charles (Kat, Kerry and Sheila, Mark and Katie, and myself) is starting a prayer team specifically for the Lake Charles response.  We are praying for a team of people committed to praying for us, our volunteers, Lake Charles Bible Church and our homeowners.  If you would like to receive updates from our site and prayer requests for Lake Charles, please sign up below!

Financial Information
God is so faithful in providing more ministry partners and prayer team members.  As many of you know, many on my team have joined me in prayer for more financial support.  By God's grace, and the generous support of my ministry partners, I'm now at 50% on a recurring monthly basis.  This is a huge answer to prayer and such an encouragement!  Having partners that are committed to giving on a monthly basis provides more stability and the ability to budget accordingly.  If you would like to support me financially and partner with me in ministry, please follow the link below and note if it is a special gift or a monthly gift.
