We have housing!

God has blessed us with a facility that we can use to house our volunteer teams when they are here for the week.  He is so good and has been working and answering our prayers!  We partnered with a church about 20 minutes from our partner church (Trinity Fellowship), that has a bunkhouse available for housing even our largest volunteer teams!  We are looking forward to being a blessing to this church and community and pray that God would open even more doors for us to serve.  All of our programing, meals, offices, etc. are still at Trinity and we are so blessed to be working alongside two churches in the Friendswood/Dickinson area.

We broke down all of the bunkbeds that we no longer had a use for and got them loaded into the trucks to take back to Covington with us.  I spent about a week and a half in Covington to join in our all staff meetings and then complete my new staff training.  It was so great to see everyone and also visit the Crisis Response warehouse for the first time.  It was such a blessing to spend time in prayer, learning and fellowship throughout the week.  Our overall theme for the week was on stewarding our time and lives and sabbaths.  So often, we get wrapped up in the business of life and we don't take the time to be still before God and listen for His voice.  It was an amazing week that served as a reminder to rest in Him and listen for His voice.  Even though it was lots of time in meetings and taking care of business, it was so awesome to be working with a team that is all driven by the same purpose- to glorify God in all that we do and point to Him.  We are spread out around the country at different response sites, but we are all part of one team and it's an integral part of our mission to make sure we have these meetings to learn together, have staff trainings, and reconvene together as one large team.
When we got back from Covington, we welcomed two volunteer teams (one from Kansas and one from Pennsylvania).  They have worked hard all week and have been such a blessing and an example of unity.  It is always so cool to see how strangers from across the country can grow so close over a week due to having a love for Christ in common.  I'm looking forward to more teams we have coming in March and what God has in store!

"For as in one body we have many members, and the members do not all have the same function, so we, though many, are one body in Christ, and individually members one of another. Having gifts that differ according to the grace given to us, let us use them: if prophecy, in proportion to our faith; if service, in our serving; the one who teaches, in his teaching; the one who exhorts, in his exhortation; the one who contributes, in generosity; the one who leads, with zeal; the one who does acts of mercy, with cheerfulness."
Romans 12:4-8
