First team of 2020!

Hi everyone!  It’s been an amazing few weeks here in Friendswood!  I arrived on New Year’s Eve and it seems like time has flown since then.  God is so good and we have gotten so much done and invested in so many relationships!  We had a wonderful team this past week from Michigan that worked so hard and were such a blessing to us all.  We have worked on three different worksites this past week: our staff house, Sebie’s house, and Sam and Stephanie’s.  I had the blessing of working at Sam and Stephanie’s for most of this week with our team.  Their home had about 2 feet of water inside during Harvey and after two and a half years, the mold had spread throughout the house.  There have been so many hands that have worked on this home and prayed for Sam and Stephanie and their neighborhood.  This past week, we were able to finish up mudding, sanding, texturing, priming and starting to paint the downstairs.  God is so great and I’m so looking forward to seeing how He continues to work!  Praise God that I have so much prayer and support from ministry partners and please continue to pray that that support, prayers, and relationships would continue.  If you aren't already on my email mailing list, but would like to be, please reach out and let me know!

There are some things that you can keep in prayer during the coming weeks:

-Tomorrow we have a Saturday work day where people in the community and the church have the opportunity to come out and serve with Crisis Response for the day.  Please pray that it would be a great day of putting people over projects and that we can build relationships as we all work together for the Lord.

-Praise- I got to TX safely and have started to settle in and find my way around.  I’ve made lots of new friends!

-God has been so good and has provided more and more volunteer teams to come and serve here in Friendswood.  Please pray that He would continue to send more teams during the coming months!

-Pray that as I meet each homeowner and build a relationship with them, that I would be able to share Christ’s love with them and point them to Him.

-Housing- Due to fire code regulations, the Friendswood fire marshal won’t allow volunteer teams to sleep in the church any longer.  This has prompted the need for us to find housing for our volunteer teams when they come down to serve.  We are currently looking through different options that would allow us to house around 20 or so volunteers at once.  Please pray that God would lead us to the right location for this.  We know that He will provide!
